10 Questions to ask before October.

As we enter the final months of the year, let's engage in some introspection. It helps to keep us focused.

These questions have been designed to gently remind you of the promises and goals you have been making throughout the year. They may inspire gratefulness, give us a moment to regain momentum or redirect us to a path better suited. Prepare for honesty and an opportunity to gain more insight about yourself.

Before you begin however; How are you actually feeling?

Not how you are supposed to feel, or how you appear to others. But what is genuinely happening for you emotionally, mentally and physically right now? Use these current feelings as a guide to answer the following questions.

  1. Do you think what you're currently going through is unique to you?

What makes you feel this way? Are there experiences, pressures or emotions you're carrying that others may not see?

  1. How have you been gentle with yourself recently?

Think beyond self-care. How have you spoken to yourself, responded to your mistakes, respected your limits or given yourself permission to rest or pause?

  1. Where in your life have you maintained discipline?

What have you continued to show up for, even when you didn't feel motivated? What does this tell you about your resilience, commitment or ability to keep going?

  1. What is the one thing you need at this moment in time?

If you could give yourself one thing right now, emotionally, mentally, practically or physically, what would it be? What might change if you allowed yourself to acknowledge that need?

  1. What are you currently working towards?

What are you trying to create, achieve, change or become? Is this something you genuinely want, or something you feel you should want?

  1. In what areas of your life do you feel you need the most support?

Where are you carrying more than you need? What type of support would actually be useful? Have you communicated that need to the people who could help?

  1. How do you advocate for your needs on a daily basis?

How comfortable are you saying what you need, speaking up or saying no? Where might you be making yourself smaller or staying silent to keep others comfortable?

  1. What truly makes you feel like a winner?

Forget what success looks like to everyone else. When do you feel genuinely proud of yourself? What experiences, choices or moments make you feel fulfilled, capable and connected to who you are?

  1. What tools or strategies have you put in place to ensure you don't give up on yourself?

When life becomes difficult, what helps you keep going? Who do you turn to? What routines, reminders, boundaries, beliefs or practices help you reconnect with yourself when your motivation is low?

  1. What do you need to remind yourself of today?

If you could speak to yourself with complete honesty and encouragement, what would you say? What do you need to hear from yourself?
